The Final Day
October 16th / 3 till 7pm / Danslab studio
In June/July 2010 choreographer Gabriella Maiorino and her dancers Cristina Leitão and Valentina Campora, invited four other choreographers (Mor Shani, Jack Gallagher, Giulia Mureddu and Andrea Leine) and their dancers to various research sessions in the Danslab studio.
During four separate sessions Gabriella and her dancers met another choreographer/dancer combination in order to take a closer look at many ideas, thoughts and questions about the relationship between dancers and choreographers, as they were conjured up over the last years research at Danslab.

After the summer break, they all met and brought together all the encounters. They discussed the different cases, experiences and perspectives.
The outcome of this session is continued by an artistic discourse, open to the field to join! The choreographers will have developed actual statements and issues.

Danslab also invited several ‘outsiders’ – including artists & writers – to witness these sessions and/or take part in the encounters. They used their interpretation of these research sessions to create new work. (Video: Melanja Palitta; drawings & texts: Babette Wagenvoort; photos: Jette Schneider; reports: Erin Harty; poetry: Olivier van Nooten) These outcomes have been expositioned at SummerNEST. Soon we will publish them as well.
